SOPHIE BRETT
I was unable to attend the 2018 Terry Fox Walk, because I was attending the Toronto International Film Festival instead. I think the following three photos encapsulate TIFF as I know it: famous actors on the streets, urban architecture, and long lines full of excitement and anticipation.
This photograph is of famed actor, Dev Patel, posing with a fan. I like this picture because it summarizes TIFF as an event; big named actors interacting with fans in downtown Toronto, for all to see. In editing this photo I increased the contrast, decreased the exposure, fixed the white balance, and increased the shadows and highlights.
I like this photograph because of its lines and various textures make it rather interesting to look at. The composition is nice where, the lines in the pillar draw my eyes to the window, then to the red signs, back to the pillar. I again fixed the white balance, decreased the exposure, then increased the shadows and highlights.
I like this photograph because it captures what part of being at such a large film festival: the lines. You spend hours waiting to see a film a fraction of the time. I enjoy the composition of this photo because you get to see how long the line is, and you also get to see a good scope of the city. I edited this the same way as the other photos; fixing the white balance, decrease the exposure and increase the contrast.
